Intraocular pressure (IOP) is an important indicator of eye health, and the reference range for normal IOP is 10-21 mmHg, and the difference between both eyes should be not more than 5mmHg, and the fluctuation should not exceed 8mmHg in 24 hours.
However, IOP has volatility and rhythmicity, and a single outpatient IOP test cannot fully reflect the true changes in IOP, and treatment may be delayed due to missed diagnosis. According to relevant studies, if the measurement method of 12 times/day is selected as the golden standard, the false negative rate of diagnosis for 6 times/day is 44.44%, and the false negative rate of diagnosis for 4 times/day is 63.89%. Currently, the “24-hour golden standard IOP monitoring” is widely accepted and recommended in clinical practice, which can effectively reduce the rate of missed diagnosis.In view of the low IOP pressure screening rate in China (up to 90% of glaucoma patients in China do not know that they have glaucoma or have never even heard of glaucoma) and the limited choices of eye detection equipment, IntelliMicro has launched the “rebound tonometer” by taking advantage of the technical advantages of China and the United States. The product adopts a new generation of electromagnetic rebound technology. It is a professional Class II handheld medical device for medical/household use which supports self-testing.
